Strong Start for OSUFC
After tryouts during the first week of classes President Mike McKune said that, “the level of competition that we had at tryouts this year was the highest that I have seen in my past 4 years here.” The success seen at tryouts has translated onto the field.
OSUFC has started off the season with 3 wins. On Sunday, September 4th OSUFC opened up with a 4-0 win over Ball State University and then turned right around to beat Xavier University with a score of 3-0. Six different players scored on the day truly making the wins a team effort. Additionally, the defense and goalkeepers produced two shutouts.
A week later, OSUFC traveled up to the University of Toledo and came home with an 8-0 victory over the Rockets. Seven different players scored, once again securing a team victory for the Buckeyes. The third straight win was accompanied by the third straight shutout.
So far the leading scorers on the season are Brock Hersch, Niko Strickler, Niko Popovich, and Josh McDaniel with 2 goals each.
